The safety and efficiency of incineration plants, cement factories and power plants depend primarily on the quality of the components used. Our special fireproof doors and inspection openings are vital parts which need to be able withstand extreme conditions – from temperatures that can melt metals through to aggressive environments.
‘Speaking as your expert partner, we would like to give our customers an exclusive insight into the full lifecycle of one of Langen Feuerungsbau’s products – starting with your initial enquiry, right through to final installation. Learn how we build ‘Made in Germany’ quality in Duisburg’, says Managing Director Anja Vogt.
The lifecycle always starts with our customers and their particular requirements. Although it is often possible to obtain standard solutions fast, in the case of industrial plants it is worth opting for tailor-made solutions. ‘Your needs are our priority. It doesn’t matter whether you are looking for a manhole cover, a gas-tight access door or an inspection opening with the option to mount a furnace camera – we will listen to your specifications carefully and make use of our extensive expertise in furnace construction to advise you on the most suitable solution. This applies to the right casting alloy (for example cast steel that is heat-resistant up to 1300 degrees Celsius) and also to specific equipment (such as fireclay boxes, insulation housing or purge air connections)’ explains Operations Manager and Manging Director Karsten Vogt. ‘Our in-house engineering department transforms these customer specifications (drawings, dimensions) into clear-cut plans which provide the basis for in-house manufacture.’
Production itself start here, in the heart of our company in Duisburg-Rheinhausen. ‘We aim to produce products with a high level of thermal resistance and a long service life;’ says Anja Vogt.
•Special design or standard: many products are available from stock. When it comes to special designs, we produce these precisely to the customer’s individual specifications and measurements.
•Materials expertise: we rely on high-quality materials such as 16Mo3 sheet metal for rolled door rings, in order to ensure maximum strength and temperature resistance. We use heat-resistant cast steel and grey cast iron from a wide range of suppliers of castings.
•Steel construction and welding technology: our in-house steel construction and our compliance with the strictest quality standards, such as DIN EN ISO 9001 and DIN EN ISO 3834, mean that we can guarantee flawless components when it comes to welding technology. Our ‘Made in Germany’ promise is our remit every day.
•Quality criteria: we pay attention to details that make a difference. Well-designed hinges for permanent tightness and special sealing systems ensure the perfect pressure distribution and uniform contact pressure on the seal throughout its entire service life.
Following production, every product is subjected to painstaking quality control. Then it is ready for delivery.
• Delivery capacity: because of the high proportion of customised in-house manufacturing and our well-stocked warehouses, we are able to guaranteed a high delivery capacity.
• Assembly (arrangement): even if we do not carry out the assembly ourselves, we are happy to put our customers in contact with reliable assembly partners all over the world.
Assembly is not the end of the production lifecycle, but the beginning of a long period of service.
• Interchangeability and upgrading: our doors are often of modular construction. If required, individual components (such as seals, heat protection glass or fireclay boxes) can be replaced or upgraded without needing to replace the entire door. This makes our solution especially sustainable and cost-efficient.
• Spare parts: as your partner, we hold a wide range of accessories and spare parts in stock for long-term maintenance.
• Your feedback: it is important to us to maintain long-lasting relationships with our customers. Your feedback helps us to continue to optimise our products and to grow our role as a sought-after partner for safe and tailor-made door solutions around the world.
