Following the successful relocation of our operations to Duisburg, we at Langen Feuerungsbau have now taken the next step: We have now also restructured and comprehensively modernised the production of our furnace doors, manhole covers and inspection hatches.
Much of our machinery has been modernised and production processes have been restructured and made more efficient. The aim was to optimise processes in order to reduce throughput times without compromising quality. To this end, we took over the entire machine and plant construction division of our former partner company 'Vogt und Bongardt GmbH'. Vogt und Bongardt' has now been organised into insolvency. With this step, the entire production is now back in the hands of our company, Langen Feuerungsbau. The employees, who had already been trained and familiarised with our products, were fully taken over and now form a solid basis for the success of our company in the coming years.
Now that we have set the course for smooth and efficient processes, our next step is to further expand the digitalisation of our products. The aim is to make our company paperless in the future. We have already taken a big step in this direction by installing modern terminals in all production areas, so that our qualified employees can access parts lists, drawings and photos of our products at any time. A terminal has also been installed in the warehouse to optimise stock management. We tested the new terminals on the machining centres and found them to be very practical.
We also revised our bills of materials and standardised parts groups to improve efficiency. This has enabled similar parts to be grouped together to minimise the total number of parts. This has had a very positive effect on both cost levels and delivery times: A lean parts inventory speeds up assembly, reduces production and delivery times, and minimises replenishment effort. Our focus has been on making parts in stock ready for despatch more quickly, reducing lead times, especially for larger orders, and ideally being able to produce without interruption. This means that our customers get the parts they need even faster.
Taken together, all these measures will have a very positive effect on our prices in the future. And for you as a customer, this means that despite rising energy and raw material costs, we will be able to keep our prices stable for the first time, or even reduce them in some cases!
