There is no room for compromise in the world of high-temperature processes. In waste incineration plants, biomass power plants and in the chemical industry – where temperatures can reach up to 13,000 degrees and corrosive atmospheres place an enormous strain on materials – it is the details that are decisive for operational safety and economic efficiency.
We at Langen Feuerungsbau are experts in special doors and inspection doors, and we know that in an industrial incineration plant a door is more than just an access method. It is a crucial safety barrier and a hub for maintenance.
‘Every day, operators of incineration plants face the challenge of performing a balancing act between maximum plant availability and the strictest safety standards. Faulty seals, blocked inspection windows or buckled access doors can rapidly lead to expensive unscheduled downtime or put staff at riskʾ, says Anja Vogt, Managing Director of Langen Feuerungsbau. ‘This is exactly where our solutions play their role. They are especially designed for the demanding conditions of plant construction and operation.’
1. A wide range of materials for extreme thermal loads: standard solutions frequently hit their limits when temperatures reach four figures. Which is why we manufacture our components from a broad range of materials – from traditional cast iron right through to high-temperature-resistant cast steel (our catalogue encompasses grades M10 to M19). This allows us to ensure that every inspection door and every manhole is precisely customised to the thermal load of the specific plant.
2. Intelligent inspection doors for process monitoring: it is essential to be able make a visual inspection of the flame pattern and the infeed of material to be burned. Our inspection doors offer:
3. Modularity and easy retrofitting: when carrying out repair work, time is the key factor. Our modular access doors can be tailored flexibly to existing thicknesses and cut-outs of walls. One particular advantage for operators is that our well-designed construction allows individual components, such as fire clay boxes, seals and handles, to be exchanged separately. This saves costs, because the entire door does not have to be replaced when one part wears out.
4. Safety due to specialised fittings: explosions or sudden pressure surges are a nightmare scenario in any incineration plant. Our explosion doors and pressure-relief doors respond accurately and reliably. Using machined components and high-quality sealing materials (e.g. asbestos-free, graphitised seals with Inconel wire) means we can guarantee an impermeability to gas that holds even under pressure.
‘In our works in Duisburg-Rheinhausen, we combine decades of experience with the latest manufacturing techniques, such as 3D waterjet cutting and CNC machining. The result is components that not only comply with standards, but also stand the test of time’, says Operations Manager and Managing Director Karsten Vogt.
For designers, service offices and plant operators, we are not merely suppliers, but partners. We can advise you from the first design right through to the final commissioning. Anywhere in the world.
